Clean wheels greatly improve a vehicle's looks. The best way
to keep your wheels clean is using mild soap and warm water
-- avoid spraying cold water on hot wheels to minimize cracking
the finish. Using "super cleaners" which contain
abravsives or potentially corrosive elements or strong detergents
can destroy a wheel's finish in just one application. After
cleaning chrome-plated wheels which do not have a clear-coat
application, apply a non-abrasive wax to minimize surface
corrosion. Aluminum wheel polish can be used only on polished
wheels, not on chrome, painted, or clear coated wheels as
that will or, more likely, dull the finish.
Don't use steam cleaners in automatic car washes or tire cleaners
on your wheels.
Dark window tint reduces UV penetration and
impoves a vehicles looks. Always use ammonia-free products
when cleaning window tint. Failure to do so will result in
a purplish tint rather than a black tint.
When you wax your vehicle, do so when the
surface is cool and preferably out of the sun. This prevents
premature drying of the wax and possible dulling of the finish.
